of the journey

At the heart of this retreat is a day at Zona MACO, Latin America’s leading contemporary art fair, experienced with discernment, depth, and context rather than rush or spectacle.

That energy continues through encounters with artist studios, private collections, and creative spaces that open a more intimate view into Mexico City’s cultural life, offering guests not only access to art week, but a richer and more layered way of seeing the city itself.

Beyond the signature experiences, the retreat is shaped by the creative pulse of Mexico City during one of its most vibrant cultural weeks. Guests stay in and around Condesa, immerse themselves in a city where art and perception form the deeper through-line, and follow an architectural walk tracing modernist and Barragan-influenced design across the urban landscape. Private visits, intimate tastings, and gatherings arranged through trusted local relationships create a sense of access grounded in warmth and intelligence. Time in the historic center reveals another layer of civic grandeur and layered history, while architecturally significant settings frame long lunches, dinners, and conversation. Throughout, multi-sensory moments shaped by art, design, food, music, scent, and atmosphere are balanced by WiseWell practices of movement, restoration, and presence. The result is a retreat that feels culturally alive, intellectually engaging, and deeply attuned to the city’s rhythm.

This retreat is designed for travelers who are energized by art, design, architecture, and the cultural life of cities. It is especially suited to those who want an experience of Mexico City during art week that feels intimate, intelligent, and layered – guests who value creativity, context, beauty, and the stimulation of being fully immersed in a place alive with ideas.

Together, these experiences create something far richer than a vacation—they offer a true invitation into the heart and soul of San Miguel de Allende. An invitation to travel fully alive.

Your Living Lineage brings together a rare convergence of moments: a front-row seat at the Copa Vendemia polo tournament, an exclusive Santa Catrina dinner with polo players and sponsors beneath the vines of San Lucas vineyard, thermal baths, sound healing, and the quiet magic of San Miguel de Allende’s cobblestone streets — all woven through with something most luxury travel never offers: the space to actually exhale.

We begin with a lively welcome dinner that doubles as a cooking class led by a Mexican-born, French-trained chef—an easy, laughter-filled evening designed to bring everyone together over extraordinary food.

Each morning, Susan leads her signature sessions blending conversation, reflection, and gentle movement to awaken presence, joy, and self-awareness.

Our days include a private sound healing at extraordinary thermal baths, a leisurely vineyard lunch overlooking a tranquil lagoon, guided historic stroll through San Miguel’s historic center, and in-house massages.

One evening we gather for dinner at a rooftop restaurant overlooking the Parroquia before enjoying live music nearby.

Beautiful surroundings, thoughtful experiences, and shared laughter make this a retreat for both heart and spirit.
